I got a lot of email from my last post that asked me if I liked ClearContext better or Xonbi. The answer is they are completely different tools.
Xobni is one of my favorite Outlook Add-ins and I think they have done a great job with the functionality, user experience, and overall thought process of the application. With Cisco investing in them, I see them as a real force over the next few years. But Xobni is all about contacts and your communications with those contacts.
ClearContext is about managing your inbox, organizing your previous emails, and getting to "Inbox Zero". In addition, they have a great solution if you are trying to organize your communications, contacts, tasks, and meetings around a project. ClearContext automatically organizes these elements around a topic and then creates a really nice Project Dashboard that gives you a 360 Degree view of the information. Open a Project Dashboard and you see everything you have done about that project. There is even an "Uber Dashboard" that gives you a summary of each of your projects. This is definitely a problem I have and ClearContext has been a great solution.
Now, I run both of these tools at the same time and have no problems at all. Between the two of them, I have probably doubled the value of Outlook and cut the work in half.
